HORSHAM, Pa.—Wawa wants you to come to dinner, and as an enticement, the company is testing chicken sandwiches and burgers as new options on its “dinner platform,” the Philadelphia Business Journal reports.
“We are testing new options specifically for dinner as we continue to connect with customers in new ways and focus on fulfilling our customers’ lives at all times of the day,” Lori Bruce, Wawa spokeswoman, said.
The items, which also include waffle fries, are only available after 4 p.m. at six locations, including one in Horsham, Pa. The sandwiches come on brioche buns with bacon, cheddar cheese, garlic aioli, lettuce, pickles and tomato as toppings for the burgers. The chicken sandwich comes breaded. Bruce didn’t elaborate on the other five locations testing the dinner menu.
In December 2018, Wawa opened its biggest store in Philadelphia, and last month, the company opened its smallest store in the same city. Wawa also has expanded its Floridapresence and has plans to add 60 locations across six states this year.
