Southeastern Michigan natives Mike and Christopher Farah of Funny Or Die were instrumental in securing Martin Short for 2013 and are excited about the opportunity to help Forgotten Harvest fight hunger in Metro Detroit. “This is a chance for us to help comedy make a difference in our home state, and we’re happy to be working with an organization like Forgotten Harvest,” said Mike Farah, president of production at Funny Or Die. “There’s a great tradition to Comedy Night, and we’re looking forward to help take it into the future to fight hunger in Metro Detroit.”
Martin Short has won fans and accolades in television, film, and theater since his breakout season on Saturday Night Live almost 30 years ago. His popularity and exposure on Saturday Night Live led Short to cross over quickly into feature films including Three Amigos, Inner Space, Three Fugitives, Clifford, Pure Luck, and Mars Attacks. One of Short’s most memorable roles was in the remake of Father of the Bride, as Franck the wedding planner, a role he reprised a few years later in Father of the Bride Part II. Short will be featured in the animated film Madagascar 3 and the Tim Burton film Frankenweenie. He can currently be seen on the CBS hit comedy series How I Met Your Mother, and is the voice of the Cat in the critically acclaimed PBS series Cat In The Hat Knows a Lot About That.
