Those in the state receiving food assistance and Family Independence Program benefits continue to decrease, according to the November fact sheet provided by the Department of Human Services
Those receiving FIP benefits decreased by 2,718 to 98,478, and cases also decreased by 1,028 to 40,117.
Food assistance recipients decreased by 28,094 to 1.71 million people, and cases decreased by 11,581 to 883,486.
Medicaid recipients also decreased by 14,975 to 1.9 million in November, and cases decreased by 6,891 to 1.1 million.
Children residing with unlicensed foster care relatives decreased by 36 to 2,688. Overall, children residing in foster care also decreased by 12 to 13,280.
Child abuse and neglect cases filed decreased by 1,939 to 11,759. Confirmed victims of child abuse or neglect also decreased by 552 to 3,009.
