For the past 9 years Prairie Farms has been a sponsor of the Cereal Festival in downtown Battle Creek. It is Home to the World’s Longest Breakfast Table! Kellogg’s, Ralston and Post donate all the cereal and Prairie Farms donates the milk.
When they decided to host a 75th Anniversary Celebration they needed to come up with a venue. It was a perfect fit! Prairie Farms approached the Cereal Festival Committee and they welcomed us with open arms and Prairie employees from all over the state jumped on board to volunteer.
Battle Creek estimates they had the largest crowd they have ever had in all the years hosting the event, somewhere around 60,000 people.
The line up to our sampling area as never ending from 8 am until 1 pm. Guests sampled 4oz. yogurt, 4oz. LF cottage cheese, and ice cold pints of our flavored milks along with a slice of the Anniversary Cake. The guests also signed a section of the World’s Largest Greeting Card, entered to win a years supply of Prairie Farms Dairy Products and a family trip for 4 to Disney World. They had a “Meet our Farm Families” Tent where our guests could feed the calves and spend some time talking to our Farm Families. Also, they had a Refuel with Chocolate Milk Area giving away lots of prizes. And of course, the mascots, Holly Holstein and Norton the Penguin, were on hand to put smiles on everyone’s faces and pose for pictures.
