For over 50 years, Federal legislation prohibited gambling over phone lines and later the internet. In 2011, the Department of Justice announced it was completely re-interpreting the law to only prohibit sports betting. This opened the flood gates for all forms of internet gambling…including the sale of lottery tickets online.
