MIRA received a financial grant to help 500 of our Michigan members and staff to understand the fundamentals of why, what, and how to prevent food contamination in a food establishment. MIRA is offering FREE Food Handler training using the Safemark education tools. These tools, developed by supermarkets, offer this training online or classroom* in-person (10 or more attendees). The training provides your employees content to protect a retailer’s customers and reputation. Topics cover food hazards, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing, and time/ temperature control. The training is valued at $40 and comes with a quick reference guide that can be used after the training and certificate of completion.
Employees working in grocery face unique food safety challenges and must be trained for every situation. Whether in the bakery, at the meat counter, or in the produce department, supermarket employees are on the front line of food safety and need engaging, consistent training that mirrors real-life situations to learn and apply important food safety principles.
SafeMark® food handler training is created FOR retailers, BY retailers. SafeMark® introduces retail food handlers to principles of personal hygiene, proper food handling, cleaning and sanitation. Employees learn to apply these principles directly to preventing food contamination and recognize steps needed to protect the safety of food.
