Michigan Sales Tax On Fuel…

Since the Michigan Road Tax on gasoline and diesel fuel increased to 26.3 cents per gallon effective January 1^st, 2017, the sales tax on those fuels changes because the Michigan Road Tax is NOT subject to the 6% sales tax.

Click here to see a chart that can be used to determine the new sales tax amount in cents-per-gallon at various retail prices. This should aid when calculating the “cost” of the fuel you are selling.
