For two years FMI has been been asking Congress to pass legislation preventing FDA from expanding menu labeling regulations to grocery store operations. And while bipartisan legislation has been introduced (H.R. 1249/S. 1756/Common Sense Nutrition Disclosure Act), and support continues to grow, Congress has not yet made it a priority. With FDA expected to publish their rule within a few months, the Common Sense Nutrition Disclosure Act needs to be adopted ASAP. House Leadership recently launched copsonsor.gov, which allows the public to demonstrate support for legislation and for Congress to measure public support/urgency. Please click here to sign-up with your Facebook login and show your support, so we can show Congress that fixing menu labeling needs action now. Please ask your members and staff to take this action as well, because the larger our public co-sponsor list grows, the more likely it is our legislation gets addressed.
