COOL Labeling Resources Available from NGA

As we approach the implementation deadline for the new USDA COOL regulations on November 23, the National Grocers Association (NGA) has provided a comprehensive list of resources and documents available for use. As a reminder the new COOL final rule became effective on May 23, however the USDA delayed enforcement until November 23 to allow for a 6 month educational and outreach period. As of the November deadline, retailers and wholesalers should be ready to fully implement the final rule. Enforcement could start as earlier as the day after the deadline however we expect it to start at the beginning of 2014. Make sure to review the list of documents so that your stores are adequately prepared.
