We Card’s goal is to create a big push for retailers to train or re-train their employees, order their 2014 We Card materials (calendars and kits) and raise the awareness of FDA regulation, state and local law compliance. FDA is on track toward completing nearly 100,000 compliance checks nationwide for the second year. Combined with state or local inspections, it’s critical for retailers to invigorate their responsible retailing efforts. Your efforts to communicate your support for We Card Awareness Month can range from communications to members and press releases to securing a Gubernatorial or state legislative proclamation that endorses it.
There are many opportunities for your association and for your membership to participate and show your support for We Card during Awareness Month.
Be on the lookout for an August update from me where I’ll provide a specific website address where you can download a variety of We Card Awareness Month participation tools and utilize what’s most appropriate for you. Those will include:
- digital artwork to promote Awareness Month on your website
- press release templates and talking points
- suggested Gubernatorial or state legislative proclamation endorsement text of We Card Awareness Month
- digital artwork to prompt your membership to use and order 2014 We Card in-store materials, online training and mystery shopping and stay informed on FDA regulations, new e-cigarette state laws and more.
It’s a great opportunity for you to communicate the “We Card” responsible retailing message to your association’s members while highlighting your association’s support to your stakeholders as well.
If you have early deadlines for publications or other communication needs before these Awareness Month participation tools are available, please contact Doug Anderson at The We Card Program, Inc. at danderson@wecard.org or 888-872-4603 ext. 24.
