All WIC vendors are asked to complete a UPC Database survey by October 19 to indicate your plan to incorporate the UPC database. The Ohio WIC program is in the process of planning for statewide implementation of Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT), with a targeted roll-out date of 2015. A series of additional communications and surveys will be released over the next six to 12 months in preparation for EBT implementation in 2015.
The Ohio WIC program is in the process of planning for statewide implementation of Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT), with a targeted roll-out date of 2015. Recently, WIC distributed the following information on their EBT plans. The letter includes:
- Information on the selected EBT technology
- An update on the UPC Database with instructions on how to download the file
- A request for all WIC vendors to complete a UPC Database survey by October 19 to indicated your plan to incorporate the UPC database.
- A link to the Ohio Department of Health UPC/PLU Store File, which contains codes for all the food items available for purchase under WIC.
